I have a fairly short rant about driving with cell phones, after the jump. Okay, I’ve come to the conclusion that the people who drive and talk are getting progressively dumber. Seriously, as time goes on their driving gets crappier. The other day, we were going to the grocery store and this person managed to drive in the middle of the road for a good 2-3 blocks. They closed down half the entrance to my neighborhood, making people drive on half of it. This one dumb (talking) lady decided that the road closed sign wasn’t blocking enough, so she proceeded to drive into the rough gravel portion, and if she kept on going she would have probably ripped out her undercarriage trying to get back up to the road. These are only a couple of idiots that I’ve seen recently. In addition, some of the people get over to the other side very early, as they’re talking on their cellphone and going 40 in the 25. If you meet another car on some of the early narrow part… one of you are just not going to get through. Even after the whole intersection was open, some spaced out people drove on the wrong side of the road for a couple of days.
Studies have shown that driving + cell phone = THREE times as dangerous as drunk driving. Why isn’t anything being done? Sure, some states have rules for teen drivers, but it’s every age group that is the problem. At least train engineers can’t do it anymore…
